The $70 Million Reasons Why Hillary Is Playing Dumb And Mum On Saudis And 9/11

By Dick Morris on April 19, 2016

All eyes are suddenly on Saudi Arabia’s role in financing the 9/11 hijackers. All except Hillary Clinton’s, that is. She’s playing dumb and mum, hoping to ride out the controversy with passive platitudes that won’t offend her Saudi benefactors. After all, it’s not that easy to collect $35-$70 million, even if you are an ex-president and a secretary of state.

But the Clintons were able to close the deal — while Hillary was a Senator and right around the time of 9/11. That’s when the Saudi’s were frantically trying to change their image. The Clintons were only too happy to help.

Now Hillary is playing dumb about the Saudis role in 9/11. As Congress considers a bill to permit the victims of 9/11 to sue the Saudi Arabian government for bankrolling the nineteen 9/11 hijackers, Hillary claimed that she didn’t know anything about the bill, saying: “I don’t really know about that, George. I’ll have to look into it.” Seriously, Hillary?

Even her fawning lapdog, George Stephanopoulos could not let that lie go by. When he challenged her, she went into a tirade to deflect the discussion:

“Unlike some people, I actually do try to learn what’s at the core of any question before I offer an opinion, ’cause you know, it’s not enough to say what’s wrong. I think you’ve got a responsibility to say how you’re going to fix it.” (I think we’re talking about Bernie here.)

So, the former Senator from N.Y, who mentions 9/11 just about every time she opens her mouth, doesn’t know anything about the bill that is probably the most important one to the 9/11 victims. (Remember her shameless claim that Wall Street so generously rewarded her because of her help in rebuilding NY after 9/11. Right, Hillary.)

About an hour after her faux pas — after her handlers were undoubtedly horrified at her response, her campaign suddenly announced that she supported the bill. She must have found some time to carefully review the bill in between her $15 million fund raiser at George Clooney’s home and her appearance at a rally for the $15 minimum wage, which, depending on the day and the audience, she sometimes supports.

Undoubtedly, Hillary learned that Obama planned to veto the bill , so at that point, she had nothing to lose and suddenly supported the bill. That’s how she operates — when opportunity knocks, she opens the door.

But she’s left the 9/11 victims hanging once again. Another bill that’s equally important to the 9/11 victims is one that would declassify 28 pages of the 9/11 Report that remain locked in an underground vault. Former Senator Bob Graham, who co-chaired the 9/11 Commission, says these secret pages implicate the Saudi government, Saudi businessmen, and Saudi charities as bankrollers of the 9/11 hijackers. He and many other members of Congress believe that the report should be declassified.

That’s another thing Hillary isn’t talking about. When asked if she had read the secret pages, she twice responded “I’m not commenting on that.”

Now, why would she stay mum on whether she’s seen the report? Well, from Hillary Clinton’s perspective, an answer might be a lose-lose situation. If she did read them, then she knows what’s in those pages. If the pages do implicate the Saudis and she pushes for release, her Saudi friends would be very unhappy. If they don’t implicate the Saudis, then why doesn’t she just say so? She doesn’t have to quote what’s in them.

But maybe she never read them.

Hillary was the Senator from N.Y. in 2004, when the report was released and should have read the 28 pages. Just like she should have read the report on Iraq and WMDs before she voted to go to war. She didn’t do that. So it turns out that she is not always as careful to understand what she is voting on or supporting, after all.

Or did she skip those pages likes she skipped the Iraq War information?

The Obama Administration will not commit to releasing the pages and claims to still be reviewing them. Hillary suggests that Obama take a “hard look” at the content and make a decision.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Meanwhile, the Saudis have been dumping millions on lobbying firms to protect their interest, including hiring the Podesta Group, founded by Hillary’s campaign chair, John Podesta and run by his brother, Tony Podesta.

All in the family.

Here’s a list of Saudi donations to the Clinton Foundation and speaking fees to Bill Clinton from the Saudi government and business interests close to the King:

Saudi Donations To The Clinton Foundation Amount
Saudi Arabia $25 Million*
Friends of Saudi Arabia $1-5 Million**
The Zayed Family $1-5 Million
Sheikh Mohammed H. Al-Amoudi $1-5 Million
Walid Juffali $1-5 Million
State of Qatar $1-5 Million
Nasser Al-Rashid $1-5 Million
Hamza B. Al Khol $100,000-$250,000
MIDROC (Sheikh Mohammed H. Al-Amoudi’s company) $20 Million
Speaking Fees To Bill Clinton Amount
Tanmiah Commercial Group, Saudi Arabia $300,000 (1/25/11)
The Dabbagh Group, Saudi Arabia $300,000 (1/20/02)
* Published reports confirm $25 million, which was the largest single gift for a long time.
** The Clinton Foundation only gives ranges of donations, not the exact amount.

Now, it makes sense why Hillary suddenly has nothing to say about 9/11 and the Saudis — there’s millions of reasons.

One more question — will Obama walk away from Saudi Arabia with a donation for his library in his pocket?
