Demand Congress Pass Legislation Banning “Mirror Phone Number” Telemarketing Calls!

If your experience parallels mine, you are getting swamped by calls from “mirror phone numbers” on your cell phone or landline. These calls are thinly disguised telemarketing calls that induce you to pick it up and answer by seeming to come from numbers that might be important to you.
For example, often I get calls from numbers that mimics my own with a few numbers changed or from locations near me or from areas which I call a lot.
It’s always the same story. Some chirpy young woman says Hi, my name is Elizabeth and…the pitch begins. By then I’ve hung up.
I’m on the Do Not Call Registry but they circumvent it by changing their numbers frequently so you can never tell who they are.
Please help me end this annoying and intrusive practice and sign this petition calling on Congress to legislate to ban these phony telemarketing calls.
WE, the Undersigned, demand Congress pass legislation outlawing the practice of making telemarketing calls to people who have signed the Do Not Call Registry by disguising the identity of the caller and using phone numbers which mirror our own or suggest they are from your neighborhood but are not.
