ly day-after-day– as opposed to the typical backroom form of negotiating with individual congressman, which only ends up giving away the kitchen sink to the those who's vote is needed to pass a particular bill. A grassroots movement like anti-obama care was something special. Now, just imagine the movement with an articulate leader. Newt is also best on being pro-growth; he actually has a plan. Last, the barrage of smear ads against Newt is about the same as the DNC's current ads against Romney (just check out Why would one assume that Mitt is better able to weather an Obama ad storm than Newt? After all, Newt's smear ads attempt to characterize him as anti-conservative, not a weather vain. Painting Newt as anti-conservative would be highlighting Obama's weaknesses, so I say Newt stands a greater chance against the Obama-machine than Mitt because his baggage only plays well in the primary, not the general. I am curious to get your take. I think we are in for a surprise in IA because the polls show so many undecided voters at this point, and Iowan voters always vote for the most conservative candidate. Those persuaded by Paul’s Constitutionalist candy will realize that a strong national defense is important. Newt polls far-and-away as the most conservative candidate and has the highest voter intensity numbers. This week should be exciting. Can’t wait to get your takes.

Mitt is running as anti-Obama instead of pro-Mitt. Is that smart?

  • Ron Lewis on December 27, 2011 7:28 pm

Dick, you say Newt had no business accepting a fee from Freddie Mac. Did his company not provide services for Freddie Mac in return for an agreed upon fee? This is the normal way a Consultant firm would operate.

Romney is a stiff, he will lose handily to Obama and it appears that is exactly what the Repub establishment wants. Not sure what the game is, but it's real obvious they have no desire to win. Gingrich isn't even CLOSE to a perfect human, but is the one guy who could demolish Obama in the only area he excels in: speaking. But now, the machine has spoken, and it looks like people are indeed sheep, ready to go where the Judas-goat leads them.

That is wonderful. None of us can let the DC establishment (on either side) and the msm dictate to us who our choice for president will be.

  • Damon Rambo on December 27, 2011 11:58 pm

Ron Paul the most "liberal" candidate, huh? Waiting for the Kool-Aid, Mr. Morris. I grow so tired of these establishment games. Who is in favor of abolishing the Department of Education (a classic conservative position)? Ron Paul. Who is in favor of smaller government? (Not just big government in a different area…)? Ron Paul. Strong Defense? Check. Pro-Life? Check. Strong states-right advocate? Check. Constitutionalist? Check. Sorry, but your charge is ridiculous. Newt AND Romney, are both far more liberal than Ron Paul, who is, in fact, a true conservative…not just another Rhino clone.

Hey Dick, you're fat. Nobody cares what you say.

  • Mista Teaspinner on December 28, 2011 3:40 am

Latest CNN poll: Obama 56 Newt 40. Yeah the Dems are trembling in their boots cause of someone with more baggage than Delta Airlines.

RE your fact check on the negatives being thrown at Newt: You said it is true Newt received $1.6 million from Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae. But you did not say what he did to get paid that money? Isn't that germane to that fact?

Too bad you can't air your daily commentary on Fox TV each night. Much more informative than the O'Reilley segments.

    Keep up the good work.

Newt Gingrich- the Man who received more then 1.5 million dollars in money from freddie mae and freddie mac. The only true candidate who doesn't flip flop and wants peace in the world- RON PAUL! Regardless of all the crap Dick that comes from Dick's mouth on fox news- he's the only true conservative- along with the only man who will recieve my vote!

  • Thomas R. Dean on December 28, 2011 6:10 pm

Gingrich is clearly the one who can best take it to President Obama – best articulate the grave deficiencies in this administration, and best lead the nation to a better future.

  • Trey Holcomb on December 28, 2011 6:42 pm

Gingrich will be out of the race before most primaries even take place.

  • Buck Buchanan on December 28, 2011 8:36 pm

Newt is an old time, politics as usual, ted kennedytype, get rich quick politician. We have had a belly full of them and I am getting a belly full of Dick Morris’s ideas and comments.
After hearing his comments about Ron Paul, I need to opt out of his site.

  • Wayne Henry Braden on December 28, 2011 8:53 pm

Newt with Rick would be great.
