that who ever the candidate is, Michelle Bachmann would be a good choice for Vice President, regardless of sex, and could bring in votes from both men an women.

I agree with your assessment of the capabilities of both men. With the economic state of our country and indeed the world economy, Romney takes the lead in my opinion. However, Newt Gingrich brings much to the table. Although it may be too early to consider, I believe that ultimately a team effort that involves both candidates would give us a winning effort to gain the Presidency. Thinking beyond that, I believe that the U.S. would win big time by having such a team governing from the White House. Romney and Gingrich each compliment and balance the Executive Branch in a way that is critical to bringing health and strength back to the United States.

As a party, it is important that the Republicans ease off on the fear of the “flip flop” and “RINO” terms. Much of the strength of the Executive Branch comes from the ability to influence, inspire and lead the majority of the people of the United States. Compromise and cooperation has been a lost art for far too long within the Executive and Legislative branches of our government. We should not make the same mistakes demonstrated by the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Democrat triad for the duration of the Obama Presidency.

Mitt Romney has been repeatedly criticized for the compromises he made during his period as Governor of Massachusetts. Had he taken a “hard line” conservative Republican position during his time as governor, he would have lost much of his ability to influence and lead the State of Massachusetts, which is far from a conservative Republican-based state. Instead, Mitt Romney chose to work with both parties and to try to represent all of the people of his state — and not just his own Republican party. As a result, he worked to lead and influence the people of the Commonwealth by showing that he respected and listened to opinions and ideas from both sides. This may be an essential approach in the coming years — to try to break the standoff that has existed for far too long in our system of government.

The people of America need to believe in their President and the system of government that serves our country. Neither side should feel that they are “shut out” by the majority party. Both sides should feel that they are respected and heard by their government. The President must continually work to inspire a sense of patriotism and cooperation that is necessary to save this country and rebuild our nation’s economy. Mitt Romney, I believe, can do this, and I believe a team effort with Newt Gingrich would make for an unbeatable Executive Branch that could give America the leadership it needs badly.

The lady from Phoenix is right. The impact of illegals on American citizens is virtually ignored. I live in Tucson and have had many issues with illegals. We have almost 10% tax rate here and they almost bankrupted our emergency hospitals.

I think Newt is riding high now but I predict he too will fall. Why? He is a loose cannon and the links provided by commentators show that. It is only a matter of time before he is found out. I feel he is bipolar which explains the ups and downs and verbal slips. (He has that in his family). We need someone with a stable temperament for our Oval Office. The truth will come out .. I like his ideas but not the man.

I normally really like the videos that I hear of yours, Dick. But this one, I respectfully disagree with you on.

I think Newt’s surge is because he does have (insert expletive here!)

I’m sick and tired of being picked on for being a Christian and I wan’t someone who has the (insert expletive here!) to actually rally against what has become the mainstream in Hollywood, media, courts, colleges, etc.., etc.

With all his failings and endless flaws, I believe he as the (insert expletive here!)

Otherwise, it’s most likely never going to end and I’ve had enough for well over a decade now!

    Give ’em Hell Newt!

I can’t imagine that anyone would think that any politician is squeaky clean. Go no farther then the White House an look at the President and his hand picked Czars, who are not following the Constitution of the United States.Dare one say, that they are helping to plunge us off a cliff, that in this person’s opinion, this nation will not survive in it’s present form. However,if we find a leader and a fighter for “We the People”, we can at least have a fighting chance to turn things around. The John and Jane Does of this Nation are aware of what this government is doing to their lives and the lives of their children and grandchildren.Four more years of Obama is not the answer. If you want the Yahoos in Washington to continue to control our health care and what type of light bulb’s you can use in your home,it’s simple don’t vote. Stay at home on election day.Don’t make a difference. If your OK with the politicians spending trillions of dollars without any oversight, then keep things exactly how they are.If you have no problems with insider trading taking place with our politicians, while more than 9% of the population is looking for jobs that have been shipped over seas. Just let thing’s ride the way they have been for some time. I’m choosing not to forget the men and women who fought and died for this country and the generation of Free Americans who built the country and repair it when it’s needed. Then you need to vote for the strongest candidate an elect him or her as President. Was it not President Ronald Reagan who asked “Are you better off today then you were 4 years ago”? If your answer is yes, then continue to vote for those in Washington who will give you the same old line that American’s good days are behind her. If you want to get us back on the right track with fresh ideas that will get the USA moving forward, and get rid of executive orders and other policies that are destroying this country’s ability to pay it’s bills, provide jobs and take care of it’s citizens, while at the same time protecting the rights of Americans. Then for me and my family, we are going to vote for Newt for President. But,if he is not the candidate to run against Obama, we will support the Republican nominee. Surely,he or she will be better then what we have in the White House. Thanks for letting me have my say. Take care.SP

It would suprise me.. ..No.. Shock me! .. if he does.. But!… you can see how it would make some people then..just not vote for him. And frankly.. me too! If he is in a run off with Obama.. and that comes out.. It Could Cost Us The Election! Help..! We Must.. Know!.. Thanks for any help with this …for Our Nation..You know how it is with politicans..all of them sometime or other.. They think they will never get caught.. Well, if he does have companies in Iran .. Wasserman caught him! And I thought Dick Morris’s site would bring it out way or the other.. Because .. if .. it is so.. We must! Thanks again..

[…] Dick Morris has taken on the issue, to suggest that if your focus is conservatism, you probably are for Newt, whereas if your focus is on the economy and jobs, you probably are for Mitt, saying of Romney that “this guy really understands jobs… He would probably be the best president we ever had when it comes to the economy.” He also notes that a conservative Congress would keep Romney in line if he were to drift leftward.
