oans for the next TEN!*%@! years! And the Democrats are the 'heroes' with this plan, and the Republicans the villains. Oh well. Now we're going to be the villains again over jobless claims. Should we just give Obama and the Democrats everything they way, just to avoid being villains? It's hard to go to the American people on Election Day and say, "vote for us!" Why? "Because we… uh, well… we gave the Democrats what they wanted so we wouldn't be villianized by the left wing media! So vote for us!" I really don't know about this strategy at all.

As Morris said a year would have been better but it was the other issues that made 2 month deal worthwhile and the stupid House Repubs (Boehner) blew it! They has Obama on Keystone, they had the tax cuts paid for by cuts in spending! What did Boehner achieve?? He looked like an ass scaring people that their taxes would go up and then just ended up capitulating to Obama. Obama won, way to go Boehner.

Morris is right, drug testing for unemployment?? Stupid! They are not unemployed because of drugs but because of OBAMA!! Repubs should make that argument, not appear as if they think the poor unemployed are a bunch of junkies! And why look like bad guys cutting unemployment when unemployment is going to be cut anyway?? Repubs unnecessarily are making themselves look heartless. Making themselves look bad and Obama good. Repubs should focus on how bad the economy is, not on punishing the unemployed!

Dean Chambers, Did you hear Morris on Oreilly 2 nights ago trying to convince that Ron Paul is more liberal than Obama because he disagrees with Obama on foreign policy!? So if you DISAGREE with the most liberal person ever, you are now MORE liberal! Dick Morris, and all the establishment republicans, are trying to "gently" influence us to vote for Romney who was promised it would be his turn this time. They say Paul's supporters are few but become hysterical that his "few" supporters might vote him into office. hmmm. You protest too much, Morris. You "jumped the shark!"

Why aren't the Republicans in Congress speaking out about this which is their dereliction of DUTY to Up Hold the US Constitution and see that this Emergency Powers Act does not go past the 2 year Limits to Executive Branch Privilege of Power over the Constitution which has been suspended now for over 10 years?

  • Donald Gatewood on December 30, 2011 9:43 pm

Dick, is no one in the republican party listening to your advice? I am a life long conservative, have followed you for a long time and believe you have a better insight than most on how to get the job done.

About your luncheon dialogue of 12/30: Are you NUTZ? Dick, when did you become a left-wing sympathizer? First, unemployment benefits need to go back to the 26-week limit – any extensions of unemployment benefits should require a urinalysis abso-damn-lutely! You hit it just right when you said there are people on unemployment that aren't accepting jobs because unemployment pays better! It pays better than the jobs for which they are applying – lotsa difference there. Keeping people dependent on the government is not a good thing, Dick! Why would you push for anything the liberals are backing (unemployment extensions) and not be in favor of some sort of responsibility on the part of the unemployed person receiving the benefit? If you get unemployment benefits, then you should do some kind of work, not just sit on your lazy duff and accept government hand outs. Wash government vehicles; polish guns; clean up evidence rooms in police stations; pick up the trash on the city streets – there is a plethora of different things the unemployed could do to "earn" their benefits.

Heartless? Politics ought not be an emotion driven pursuit. Please tell me again how the 2 month extension and paying for it via mortgage fees is a great deal.

  • Richard Helmold on December 30, 2011 10:08 pm

What ought to be and what is are two different things. Leftists have been winning for years on emotion and Repubs don’t need to be "needlessly" giving them more ammo. I don’t know about the mortgage fees, Dick says the agreement was to pay by cuts, not with fees.

Hey Dick find out who it was and tell us.

  • James Heffley on December 31, 2011 6:14 am

    Mr. Morris,

The preceding posts indicate to me that the only thing dumber than a Liberal is a Republican with a TV set in his living room and a computer hooked up to the internet.

    Boys and Girls,

We are currently trying to take Obama out of office in November. We can cut taxes properly ONLY if we are in control of all three branches of the government after November. Now is not the time to try to govern. Obama is not governing now! He is campaigning and vacationing on the tax payer dollar and making fools out of the Republicans with impunity.

I am unemployed and I understand what the GOP is trying to do, but Mr Morris is right, I'm unemployed because of a boss/owner who feltt he could do whatever he wanted to and get away with it. I have been and am actively looking for work but in this ECONOMY it's a REAL problem getting work. The Republicans have to STOP playing baby games with OBLABLA and hit him and keep hitting him where it hurts , the ECONOMY! If anyone thinks that the vast majority of people that are unemplyed enjoy it they're as stupid as OBLABLA, COME ON GOP!

  • Don Petersen on December 31, 2011 12:34 pm

You are saying that most republican voters like Romney more than they like Gingrich. Are we voting on likeability or qualifications? No one is more qualified than Gingrich when it comes to leading this country. The Democrats say they relish the idea of facing Gingrich but I don't believe them. So far the republican choices for president have been disasters. If we are going to lose why not lose with the best qualified candidate Gingrich. We definitely will lose if Romney is selected.

  • Jim Orefice on December 31, 2011 9:04 pm

Dean Chambers give me a break. He (and I suppose you) are isolationists. No matter how right Ron Paul is on domestic economic issues, his foreign policy is terrible. That is what makes him unelectable. If he wins the nomination, I will vote for him gritting my teeth, but Obama will win in a landslide.

  • Jim Orefice on December 31, 2011 9:05 pm

Soooo true. This tells it all!
