Speaking of songs, I was impressed as Mike Huckabee was introduced by Jay Leno on the Tonight Show with the never aging tune of "Everyday People" by Sly & The Family Stone being played by the band as he made his way to the stage. We finally have a Republican Candidate with enormous broad appeal beyond his core base of evangelical Christians. Everyday people are connecting with his message, his story and even his stands which seem to frazzle the more traditional Republican base. It's one thing to invoke the name of Ronald Reagan which the other Republican candidates do, but quite another to embody the spirit of the "Great Communicator" which Mike Huckabee is.

Hillary will be hard pressed not to begin to dismantle the rise of Obama based on his experience in office and at the same time not tarnish the reputation of her husband Bill as the first "black" President. This may be a delicate balancing act on a tightrope she is not familiar with which finally would broaden the tent for people of color to take a serious look at the Republican Party led by Mike Huckabee. There is little doubt in my mind, should she receive the nomination, she will be seriously wounded for knocking Obama out of contention among his supporters. I do not see a VP offer either from her to Obama for fear he would overshadow her and appear as tokenism to a man who like Huckabee strikes a cord of unity among all of us.

On the flip side, should Obama succeed in obtaining the nomination, he would be handicapped from the attacks of the Clinton Machine which the Republicans would parrot and at the same time take the high road by using only the experience issues as opposed to personal attacks. Hillary as VP to Obama - not even a consideration.

In any event, the person best suited for the ultimate task of defeating the Democratic Nominee and putting a new face, as well as a welcome mat to everyday people is Mike Huckabee!

My biggest fear is that we will go back to the days with the Clinton's where the most important thing for the country to them was to keep Bill in power to further both of the agenda's. They rolled over good people and dragged good people through the gutter to protect themselves.
Their terrorist tactics with people to shut them up after abusing them is something we do not need. No wonder Bill did not go after the terrorists back then because their own tactics to destroy people did not fall short of what was being done by Osama B.
