Last week, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced that it was going to hold nations accountable for their economic decisions and publish quarterly yardsticks to measure their success in adopting “appropriate” policies. Who decides what’s appropriate? The European central bankers who run the IMF. The United States will have to meekly comply. The next step? Sanctions against nations that beg to differ with the IMF — our new global Czar.

OBAMA’S MEDICARE HYPOCRISY

Piously posturing as the savior of Medicare, President Obama lashed out at the House Republicans for embracing the budget proposed by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). But a comparison of the president’s own plans for Medicare with those in the Ryan budget shows that the Democratic cuts are far more immediate and drastic than anything in the GOP proposal.
While the Republican Medicare changes only take effect in 2021, Obama’s cuts will begin hurting seniors right away. The president’s healthcare legislation imposed a hard spending cap on Medicare ?– the first time it has ever had one — which he has just proposed lowering by another one-half of 1 percent of GDP (a further cut of about $70 billion a year).

When John Boehner sold us down the river with his budget deal, only one Republican leader had the courage to speak out and demand that he keep his campaign promise to cut $100 billion from the budget — Michele Bachmann. She spoke out against the phony math of the budget deal and said the GOP should not cave in. She’s a great new force in our politics. And maybe the next president.

HERE COMES INFLATION
In our book Revolt!, we warn that inflation may well be the dominant legacy of the Obama presidency. While he had Bush’s help in creating high unemployment, he has driven us into inflation all on his own.
The latest data indicates that prices soared in March at an annual rate of 6.5 percent, by far the highest increase in decades. Half of the increase was in energy prices and one half point in higher food costs. While the Federal Reserve Board focuses on the “core” inflation rate, that excludes these volatile items, American consumers dip into the same pocketbook to pay for food and fuel that they use to pay other prices.
HOUSE FRESHMEN FLUNK THE FIRST TEST
Three-quarters of the freshman class of Republican Congressmen – the group that was going to change America – succumbed to party pressure and voted to accept the Boehner sellout deal he struck with President Obama. How disappointing for those of us who worked hard to elect them and vested such hopes for change in their candidacies.

In this video commentary, I explain my take on Congressman Paul Ryan’s vision and clarify what Ryan is really proposing.
It took courage and intellectual ability, but Congressman Paul Ryan has laid out a plan to bring down the deficit and save our country. But his plan is widely and deliberately misunderstood by the mainstream media. Nobody mentions how it repeals Obamacare and cancels Obama’s Medicare cuts.
