AL GORE CAN BEAT HILLARY
Published on NewsMax.com on October 13, 2007.
If the bumper sticker of ’92 and ’96 (Clinton-Gore) divides, and we find Gore running against Hillary Clinton, Al Gore could not only beat the former First Lady for the Democratic nomination, he could win the presidency.
AMERICANS UNDERESTIMATE TERROR THREAT
Asked in the latest Gallup Poll what are the major problems facing America, an incredible 4% said terrorism. 96% are living with their heads in the sand. 33% cited Iraq, 22% mentioned some economic problem, 13% spoke of health care issues and 9% mentioned immigration.
CHANCE OF INCREASED TAXES IF HILLARY CLINTON IS ELECTED
By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN
Published on FoxNews.com on October 11, 2007.
Hillary Clinton would raise taxes if she is elected president. Sharply. As her candidacy gains momentum and she closes in on the Democratic nomination, it would be well to review the record and underscore the tax increases she would be likely to enact.
OBAMA, EDWARDS TRY TO TRADE MICHIGAN FOR IOWA, N.H.
In one of the most bizarre moments in the 2007-8 presidential race, Barack Obama, John Edwards, and Bill Richardson have all filed papers to withdraw from the Michigan presidential primary in conformity with the diktat of the Democratic National Committee that THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER PRIMARY BEFORE NEW HAMPSHIRE. They literally are conceding all the delegates from one of America’s largest states to Hillary! And they are doing this in order to show their loyalty to the voters of two tiny states — Iowa and New Hampshire — whose caucus and primary come before Michigan. It is unreal. Rather than defy the party rules, as the likely party nominee is doing, they have chosen to sacrifice a huge load of potential delegates to pander to the voters of Iowa and New Hampshire.
WHY THE DEMOCRATS ARE BACKING HILLARY
Published on TheHill.com on October 10, 2007.
The question looms over the Democratic primary: Why are rank-and-file Democrats so determined to nominate Hillary Clinton for president? With her lead now growing and her vote share registering in the mid-40s, she is increasingly likely to win the nomination. Why?
HILLARY WILL TRIGGER STOCK CRASH
I give political analysis, not financial advice. But sometimes, the two closely merge. So here’s what I think. Hillary Clinton will cause the stock market to crash as her likely election as president approaches. She says she wants to raise the capital gains tax. Now its 15%. She might hike it to 30% or she might eliminate it altogether and tax profits from sales of stock or houses as ordinary income at 40%. So what will happen? As election day approaches, smart investors will sell their stocks because they will want to pay 15% not 30 or 40 percent. They’ll realize that if they wait, they’ll just have to cough up more in taxes. That will cause stock prices to tank and with them our retirement savings. And that is only the start of the many gifts we’d get if Hillary becomes president. Only the start.
A PLAN TO TAKE DOWN HILLARY
HER REAL STAND ON IRAQ AND HOW IT HELPS OBAMA
Published in the New York Post on October 7, 2007.
Sen. Barack Obama, groping for a position from which to differentiate his position on the war in Iraq from Hillary’s, has turned to the past to find traction.
FRED IS FADING
Scott Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll catalogues a candidacy in trouble as it chronicles Fred Thompson’s decent over the past two weeks in the polls as his candidacy increasingly comes to resemble the old U.S. Vanguard rocket which would go three feet up in the air before crashing back down on the launching pad (circa 1958).
