By engaging Hillary, Rudy Giuliani is making a wise strategic decision. In all the polls, Rudy is seen as the candidate most likely to defeat Hillary Clinton. By attacking her, he emphasizes this quality and overshadows Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney. The presidential races in each party are taking on the aspect of an audition rather than a primary. Voters are supporting the person who is most likely to beat the other party, not the one they most agree with on the issues or like or trust the most. In this atmosphere, Hillary and Rudy are mutually supporting bookends, each keeping the other on top by the perception of their own electability.

Rudy was the big winner last week going after Moveon.org and focused his attacks on Hillary. The rest of the pack are probably kicking themselves, why did’nt we do that! Rudy is dumb like a fox and has now moved his campaign beyond the Republican field and clearly focusing on Hillary as the likely nominee, and articulating what a Hillary world will be like.
Again, Rudy is the only one in my view who has the capability of winning against Hilary which will require moderate democrats, independents and others. I also think Rudy is far more effective and is an experienced debater especially having a press conference every day he was mayor.
The bottom line is also the fact that Hillary “has never really had a serious opponent” in both senate races. In both cases, her opposition where vastly flawed, and under funded.

Since Hillary’s lead in the polls is expanding over Rudy, maybe he should hit her with her tax initiatives. What made my ears perk up is when I heard you on Hannity & Colmes the other night dicusseing a Stock Market crash to rival 1929 if Hillary gets into office and raises the capitl gains tax. I agree that stockholders would probably sell rather than pay an exorbinate tax increase on their earings.
